Our team is planning to integrate Credly badges with courses and I’d love to hear from anyone who has done this on Thought Industries.
Were there any challenges, limitations, or unexpected issues beyond what’s mentioned in this article: Credly – Thought Industries? Or did the process go smoothly?
Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

The integration itself is pretty simple to set up and works correctly to send completion information to Credly when a piece of content is completed.
However, the integration is very basic and limited in several ways.
You can only provision one badge to one piece of content. So, if you offer the same badge for multiple courses, that won’t work. You’d have to create a different badge for each piece of content.
Also, TI does not allow and/or for prerequisites or for badges. So, there is no way to say if a user completes these two pieces of content or if the users completes this content or this content, give them this badge.
So, you are getting a single badge for a single content completion sent automatically.
Not sure what your full use case is for Credly and badges, but we have found it very limited in use and are considering moving to an API option in the future so that we have more options. There are several suggestions in the community around the limited functionality of the integration if you want to go upvote those! 😀
We also do not use the badge display widget because it is not easily customizable or adaptable. So, we just have it turned off.
