Does anyone else experience problems when trying to reschedule an event ?  We find that if we edit an existing event date, the change is not automatically updated in the accounts of the registered students.

Nearly all of our events are Virtual Learning events so I am not sure if this problem is unique to this event type of if it also occurs with other types (webinar for example).

The work around is to delete the event and create a new one from scratch but this is not ideal.

Rescheduling an event is basic function of an LMS, so I would expect it to be easy.  Has anyone else experience this or has a better (simpler) work around ?

We have this issue and we delete/reschedule the events. We send an email to registered users to advise that the event is cancelled and ask them to register for the rescheduled event.

Another issue for us is that the calendar invite for the original event stays in a learners calendar and we have to rely on them remembering to delete it when the event is cancelled.

Not very helpful but you aren’t alone with this issue!

Thanks for the reply Jeananne.  At least I now know we are not alone!  I could not see any feature requests in Community for a fix for this so maybe I need to raise it.  Like I said in my original post, smooth rescheduling of an event should be a basic feature of an LMS.

@JQuinn  - agree that this is an issue. If you submit a suggestion, I would be happy to upvote it, as this should work as you described.

Hi all,

Thanks for your ideas and comments on this topic.

Unfortunately the current API that is available in our native integration is a “Create” action only, whereby we create an event in the external webinar provider on the creation of an event in TI.
The API does not send any updates to the webinar provider if changes are made in TI.

If you submit as a suggestion I will open it for Votes and Comments and we will follow the normal process.

What I can’t say, is if any of the webinar providers have an API that triggers updates to the event in TI, so this may be a challenge we need to overcome.

Kind regards
