CSS : Three little letters with massive value

Who would have thought that three letters and a little imagination could have such an impact on your site and the learners' experience? This week’s Office Hours session on Design Tips in content opened our eyes to the amount of customization that is available within your TI platform. Phil and team demonstrated a number of different display options that are available on a few key course pages but also showed how to implement the customization at either a course or whole site level. Many of you were looking at CSS for the first time so it may seem daunting at first, but don’t be afraid to dip your toe safely in the water in your sandbox to get more comfortable. Also don't forget the Styles page that was shared! To find it, login as a manager and append /learn/manager/styles to the end of your instance URL.  Have you added any CSS to your site to customize the look and feel? If so, we would love to see you post an image of your handiwork and your CSS code!

Assessments : And today’s question is…

Session four of our content authoring series, Assessments, proved to be a very popular topic this week in our Office Hours, with specific focus on Quiz, Test and Survey pages.Phil put a lot of focus on the key considerations to take into account before building out your assessments to help determine the best approach. During the peer to peer session there was a question about Video assessment, which can be achieved via our Assignment upload feature, or if you want AI graded functionality we have a native integration with Bongo, which is proving to be very popular among our clients. Do you have any assessment efficiency guides or tips, or even clever configurations you would like to share with the community? SSO URLs

We have SSO set up for our instance and would like to be able to share links for content for our users that would direct them to the SSO login rather than the TI login and then redirect them to the content we listed. I have talked to one person who has this set up for their org using a SSO URL Generator, but I wanted to see if others were doing this and if so, how you set it up? Thanks!

Is it possible to sort users displayed in a dashboard based on a transaction filter?

We are looking to track user actions after redemption of a coupon code.I would like to be able to filter a dashboard by this coupon code, and see which users redeemed have it and what they have done on our site since redemption. I have created a dashboard with the looks that I would like to include but have not been able to get the data to filter and display properly.  Is there a way to do this?

Certification incentive program?

Where is the best place to add an OG image and other meta data for the full site?

We are sharing the primary link to our site out on socials, but aren’t having much come through. I know how to add an OG to a specific piece of content - but is it possible to set this somewhere for the whole site???

Problems Rescheduling Events

Does anyone else experience problems when trying to reschedule an event ?  We find that if we edit an existing event date, the change is not automatically updated in the accounts of the registered students.Nearly all of our events are Virtual Learning events so I am not sure if this problem is unique to this event type of if it also occurs with other types (webinar for example).The work around is to delete the event and create a new one from scratch but this is not ideal. Rescheduling an event is basic function of an LMS, so I would expect it to be easy.  Has anyone else experience this or has a better (simpler) work around ?

Packaging Two Webinars as a Single Live Event Product (Separate Zoom Confirmations)

We’re looking to create a single live event product that includes two separate webinars, but we need each webinar to generate its own separate Zoom confirmation email upon registration.A few key details:We want the webinars to appear as two live event pages rather than a course format. Ideally, the user registers once and gets access to both, but receives distinct Zoom confirmation emails. We use our own eCommerce system, so we’re also considering how that factors in. We have not used Learning Paths, but could this be a work around?Has anyone successfully set up something similar in Thought Industries? Any creative workarounds or best practices would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!

More prerequisite options

HelloWe have several courses (usually set as learning paths) where we require a prerequisite course to be completed prior to be able to register for the course.Unfortunately the current prerequisite settings only allows selecting one (or more) courses as prerequisites but in case more are selected, the learner is required to complete all listed prereqs. For some courses we have several options the learners can take as a prerequisite so we’re in a need to have the OR option in the prerequisite settings. If we select all possible prereq courses, the learners are forced to have completed all not just any of the list. We tried using a milestone in the learning path with the content of the prerequisite course but it backfired since the learners gained access to the prerequisite content for free in case they did not met the conditions and hadn’t the prereq content completed beforehand. We need a way to ensure learners won’t register for a course without prerequisites met or gain access to mo

What is the difference between the options of Reschedule and Re-Enroll? And what is the reason to choose one over another, and the users experience bwteen all of them.

Individual video ratings for reporting

It looks like that the 5-star ratings for video assets are only available as an aggregated average at the moment. To combine the ratings with other performance measures of a specific video, I would like to be able to access individual star ratings as well. Is there a way I can access this individual data?

Ecomm2.0 - Anyone made the switch to the new eComm?

Has anyone made the switch to ecomm 2.0? Looking for some insight on the experience, particularly if you don’t have a sandbox, was the transition seamless or were there hiccups? We are nervous about such a big switch on the live site and what effects it could have on other parts of the system and just wondered if there were others who might be able to tell us things that could come up we hadn’t thought about. Any insight is appreciated! edit: *anyone - unable to edit the title :)

Labels not generating on certificate

I was able to replace a previous version of our certificate of completion, however, 2 labels are not pulling over: degree(s) and completion dateHere is the template (I know name is not centered yet): When viewing the certificate from a test account: Settings  > Certifications:    Learner reference 1

Custom Reports - Filtered Measures

I’ve created our own badge integration with Credly and I want to track total customer badges earned across the platform on a group dashboard for leadership. This means I have to capture data for each assessment tied ot the badge trigger and filter out internal employees.I’m using tagging to accomplish this using the following parameters:1. There are 2 ways to earn every badge: By either passing the pre or post test. However, some people are choosing to take both and passing both and I don't want to count individuals twice. So I need a way to count by the badge earned. My solution was to tag the assessments by the badge name and use a distinct count per tag, but I'm open to other methods and suggestions.2. Badging is an integration and is triggered upon passing the above assessments, so it's not registered in TI. I can only use assessment passed to determine badges awarded.Filters:Email (does not contain) {employee email domain} Assessments Passed = yes, Content Tags Tag (is) {designate

Call for Help: Pre Recs vs. Competency Assessment vs. Using a Widget (Learning Path Layout)

Hello!I have a learning path that needs to be an OPTIONAL pre req for another learning path. To my knowledge, a learning path cannot be added to as a piece of “content” to a learning path - therefore I cannot use the native milestone/elective functionality. What are some workarounds?So far I am playing with the following:Configure a competency assessment (I have no experience doing this - and would need to make sure its set up correctly, and best tips/tricks would be appreciated for an optional use case) Add a widget on the learning path layout and do a CTA directly to the other learning path - OR use the featured content carousel widget (will this work)?Has anyone else encountered this similar workflow before and have a solution? Thanks!

How are you using TI gamification at your organization?

We are currently looking into using gamification on quizzes. Has anyone done this before? We would like to provide a certain amount of points to an individual based on how well they complete a quiz and then for it to appear on a leaderboard. Has anyone done this before? If so, could you provide screenshots of how this would look? Any other use cases for using TI gamification? Any success?

Okta tile to Thought Industries Learner Dashboard question

Question for those that use Okta as the SSO provider for your LMS. We have to regularly instruct users to navigate to Okta first, use the Ti tile inside of Okta to properly authenticate to the LMS.Curiosity got the best of me and did some testing by copying the link from the Okta tile. It’s broken down as such: I’ve covered the actual URL but replaced it with Orange Text so that hopefully someone smarter than me can answer my end question.Using a URL similar to the one above (assuming I right-click the Okta tile, copy link, and paste it into a text editor), can I append a “course detail page” slug to the end of this? The end goal would be to share a link to a course or Learning Path that will automatically push them through Okta for SSO auth, then use the course/learning path slug to go directly to that content’s detail page. Right now, if we share a detail page link internally, it takes them to the “public” site and doesn’t automatically log them into their learner profile. Please sha

Report on Recommendation Assessment Engagement

We would like to report on the effectiveness of the recommend assessment function. Is anyone successfully tracking whether this functionality is helpful and leads to more engagement by learners? Has anyone else resolved this or would you find this data helpful?

New Tags not showing up for bulk tagging - anyone else?

When I create a new tag in the Tag Manager, it doesn't show up for Bulk Tagging - It DOES appear in the Tag Manager and can be added to a course individually through Design/ Edit Catalog Settings. I do have a support ticket for this issue and they have elevated it to the Dev Team, but I’m wondering if anyone else is having this issue and we can get some power in numbers to ensure this gets fixed asap.Thanks all!

We've updated Certificates, can Learners download a new certificate (with old data)

HI - Here’s our use case.We posted certificates that and several hundred people have earned our certificate. But we realized that the resolution is very poor and want to reissue better looking certificates. Is there a way to allow students to go in and redownload the certificate with the new image and their actual completion date (in the past). Thanks!Joe

Accessibility Feature: Uploading Transcripts to Accompany CC and Video/Audio

Hello Fellow Creative Thinkers!I am struggling with how to provide transcripts to accompany audio and video content. Ideally it would be easy for folks to find, but not “in their face” while also coexisting with the related content.How are you supplying transcripts to your learners?Here are a few possible ideas (but I haven’t tried any yet):Add the transcript to the Asset Manager/CAM and link to it from a text block on the page where the video/audio content exists Is there a way to “link” to the transcript in Wistia and embed that URL on the video/audio pageAs we delve further into accessibility, we want to provide transcripts in addition to the CC for videos, and somehow provide the transcript for an audio file.Let the fun begin!~ Ruthanne
