A Little CSS Can Go a Long Way

I am so excited to share that I had to make it a post.  @Community Team  if this isn’t a good share, feel free to take it down.  I want to show everyone that this was not easy, but you can really create a unique learner journey with just CSS.  I am not ashamed to say that I use Chat GPT 4.0 to help me but after you get used to using “Inspect Page”, recognizing syntax and classes, and asking AI for some help you can do amazing things with Ti and we are fortunate that they allow it (at your own risk).  If you have a sandbox, I suggest you try these things there first but check out my before and after of the catalog widget in Calendar view.  It’s so fun and rewarding to achieve exactly what YOU need.  BEFORE and AFTER (remove search bar, remove custom field index, center content)BeforeAFTER TARGETED CSS FOR ONE PANOAfter

Learners somehow bypassing the onboarding survey or data not saving?

Hi There!Although minimal in contrast to the volume of registrations we receive, we’re finding that a number of users have somehow been able to complete their learning path (or courses) but have not submitted any onboarding survey data (no data on the user record and no data in onboarding survey reports).The only thing I can think of is that these users were either able to somehow bypass the survey or that the data is not saving in some cases for some reason.For context, we have several questions in our onboarding survey, most of which are required. As I understand it, there really shouldn’t be a way to skip the onboarding survey. Could this be the result of a spotty or dropped connection or perhaps some sort of browser setting, firewall/add-blockers, etc.?Has anyone ever ran into this? Aside from conducting 1:1 with users (which would likely be hard to replicate anyway) any thoughts on potential causes or pathways for further investigation?

Custom admin roles and the Central Assett Manager

We use custom roles for our admins and have found an area of issue related to the options for Managing Central Assets.  Currently, if a manager role doesn’t have the option for destroying content in the CAM they are unable to save any widget in a page with a CAM item. They can view it and add it into the widget, but saving doesn’t work.  We need an option for someone who should be able to pull a CAM item into a widget or WSYWIG editor, without the ability to edit them or delete any CAM items at all.

Hide a course text page from learners only

The use case:A subject matter expert is creating a course for internal learners. The expert would like to store instructor resources in separate lesson within a text page of the course while keeping the lesson and page hidden from learners. The idea is to keep instructor resources close to the course material for live review sessions with beginners.The simplest solution seems to be to create a section/lesson/page page but not publish; however, this option doesn’t seem sustainable or scalable.The current solution:The current solution we have is to set the date of release for the lesson/page to a future date and name the lesson/page with a title like Instructor Resources so it’s clear to the learner that the area is not for him/her/them. The question:What is another way to do this? Is there a way to completely hide a section/lesson/page in a course from learners while exposing it to managers?   hey @charles.zimmerman 👋🏼 have you ever done something like this?!

Content Types

Hello! I feel like I may have seen something similar to this recently but in my cold med haze, cannot locate it. Recently, I noticed we now have two “Course” Content Types available. Anyone else have this recently duplicate? We use very minimal so I know I did not create a duplicate on accident (please see attached). Doesn’t look like I have the option to remove one either, as they appear to be the same?  I have not selected to change any Course Type(s) when managing my course catalog settings. but now have the same option available within the drop-down. Not a huge deal but messes with my organization!

Lockout after test attempt

Hello,we need to create test/quizzes within a course. We have specific needs:3 attempts  Lockout of 24Hrs after 1st and 2nd attempt Lockout of 1 week after 3rd attemptI could not find anything like a lockout option in the tool and there was no mention in help articles.Anyone else has the same issue and found a way to set it up or a workaround?

Cannot Add New Tags?

Hello! Is anyone else having issues adding new tags and seeing the following message, “no matching tags available.” Wondering if I missed a product update and this workflow has now changed? I checked the help documentation and nothing is noted. All I want to do is add a new tag to the system. SSO URLs

We have SSO set up for our instance and would like to be able to share links for content for our users that would direct them to the SSO login rather than the TI login and then redirect them to the content we listed. I have talked to one person who has this set up for their org using a SSO URL Generator, but I wanted to see if others were doing this and if so, how you set it up? Thanks!

Add to Outlook Calendar link opens sign in page and not invitation

Hi, have you ever encountered an error with Learner Notifications that have Outlook calendar link? Add to Google works fast and fine, Download ICS does the job as well, but Add to Outlook calendar link opens Outlook web version sign in page. Even for logged in users with web version open it still does not direct to invitation that can be added to Outlook calendar. While testing from other devices I can see this working but cannot fix for myself, what browser or Outlook restrictions could cause this?

How to mark attendance

For those of you that do a lot of ILTs or VILTs, how do to efficiently mark attendance for each live session? Looking for something that doesn’t require having to find each live session roster, it’s just taking too much time.

Coupon API with salesforce

We would like to have a new API for coupons , this API would need to deduct or increase a coupon from the coupon count in the system. How to transition from a gated academy to an ungated academy?

Hello TI Community!I am currently exploring the transition of our site from a gated experience to a more open, public format. My goal is to allow users to discover the site while still requiring them to log in to access content. Has anyone in the community successfully made this shift to a public site? ANYONE USING Awards and Badges?

Hi there, looking for folks who are using awards and badges in TI. (not credly or outside vendors)We are struggling with ideas on how to continue to encourage earning points for different badges, when you can only see your status/leaderboard for one badge at a time (determined by the admin). Do you change the “priority” of the badges weekly? Keep it the same? do something different? Wish the leaderboard was more dynamic and interactive for learners. :(Any thoughts or suggestions or sharing how you use this is welcomed!

SCORM Connect Errors & Fixes

We are having some issues with SCORM Connect with a few of our customers. We are not alone in having some issues and would love to hear from other users who may be experiencing this issue or have found a fix for it. One of the issues is that the SCORM zip file has a .swf included and the customer LMS blocks any .swf uploads. The other issue is that customers are having trouble with the file sending the completion data to their LMS. It loads and they can use it, but if they leave the course mid-way or complete it, it either marks it as failed, or doesn’t send back any data. It appears that there is some information not being included in the SCORM Connect file. Just wanted to see if anyone else was having issues and interested in exploring some solutions with us.

Updating Learning Paths question

I just tested this in my sandbox, but I’m not confident in the results - We just released some updated courses today that will affect existing learning paths, so I need to go in and add the newly released courses to those learning paths (& remove the old courses). How will this affect any existing learners in those learning paths? Will they have the original courses that they signed up for with the learning path? Or the updated courses?I’m not finding the answer in the Setting up Learning Paths article so it’s making me nervous…Thank you!

Events Sidebar Layout Issues

Hello! Just curious if anyone else is experiencing issues with their sidebar layout specific to Virtual Events? Our start button is not displaying and when we go to edit the layout in the design tab - the changes do not display across our instance. I have submitted a support ticket, but was curious if others are experiencing this, and if you have found workaround solutions? Thanks!

Differences between Site course page and Pano course page (Child Editing Enabled)

I feel like I know the answer to this, but I’m curious if there is a way to see or highlight differences between the Site Level page and a Pano Level page in a course when we enable the “Unlocked for editing by children?” is enabled.I understand some of the use cases I’ve seen on the community, such as an Instructor Bio page that would be unique to each specific panorama, however that’s not applicable to us.We just ran into a situation where an assessment had “Unlocked for editing by children?” enabled, and the question was modified at the Site level. After changes were saved and published, the test user took the assessment and saw an old variation of the question. The only way we could get the user to see the new variation is to disable the “Unlocked for editing by children?” field. Thoughts?

Connect to LXP

We still have a few courses in our old LXP and LMS, we’re turning off the LMS but need to keep the course experience in the LXP for a bit longer. Thus, we need to connect old LXP to Ti so that learners can launch the LXP course from Ti plus have their completion tracked in Ti so that they receive credits and certificate. Has anyone done this, or know how to do it...? TIA!

Salesforce Managed Package - creating learners from Ti to Salesforce?

For anyone else using the Salesforce Managed Package to sync between Ti and Salesforce, we are seeing that learners that are made on Ti, Ti is trying to sync those learners to contacts that don’t exist in Salesforce. I’m curious if anyone else is dealing with this and what your solution is? Our CRM team doesn’t want to manage the false users constantly after every sync. How is everyone else managing it?

Provision VILTs to panoramas

We have a panorama using credits towards public VILT events. Is there a way to provision the public VILTs in their region to the panorama without having to do this manually as they are created?I know tagging is probably the easy answer here, but since the tag defaults to all events of that type, they´re getting access to a lot of sessions that are private / not for their region. Any suggestions on how to set this up?
