We have content where the content is ungated (setup as lessons Open to Everyone and a Sample Lesson) that allows learners to navigate through our videos, text and labs but when they get to a skill check they are asked to login. Our videos, text and labs are not tied to completion and only the skill check is.

However when a learner tries to navigate to the skill check it is greyed out with a

:no_entry_sign:

This is causing some confusion and they are not sure how to navigate to the skill check directly versus taking the optional content. We would like to know how can we make this happen so they can click Skill Check and bring them to a Register Now page so they do not feel blocked.

Hi @grace.filkins ,

Can you please send me the URL for a sample content item that I can look at and see if I can find out what is causing this experience for your learners.

Kind regards

Jon

@joana.samora here is the URL: https://learn.mongodb.com/learn/course/relational-to-document-model/relational-to-document-model

When you navigate to Skill Check is where I am referring to.

HI @grace.filkins

The setting for the section wih the skills test is set to “Open to Learners Only” so you need to be registered to access this section. You need to change this to “Open to everyone” - see below

Best

Jon

Thank you @jonsynnott this is intentional.

We just want them to be able to click on the locked lesson and see a register page. Right now they are blocked and can only see the register now page if they click Next from the previous page.

Hi @grace.filkins

That makes sense, I am chcking with my team whether there is a way around this.
It is intended functionality but someone may have come across a clever way to facilitate what you are looking to achieve.

Watch this space.

Jon
