Panorama Manager > Reporting > Dashboards - View Only mode w/o edit?

I’m attempting to share a dashboard with several managers within a panorama, however I am having difficulty preventing any of them from editing it. I was on a call with them and one of them asked if they edited it, would it impact everyone else’s view. They then shared their screen and sure enough, it changed the view for them.

 

I’ve checked the Pano Manager Role they have and the only reporting type permission they have is this one: 
 


Any thoughts on how I can prevent about 15 people from editing a dashboard?​

I checked with my team and unfortunately there is no way to lock down editing a dashboard or creating a report from a look for any Pano Manager or Admin.
Once you have access to the reporting module you can create / edit dashboards.

 

One thing you could do to limit the need to edit the dashboard, which I am sure you have done, is to note all the changes that were made by the managers, and why, then see if it makes sense to build these changes into the default report so the managers only need to modify the filters, if they dont need any data they can just ignore it.

Another option would be to make a copy of the dashboard for each manager, if they want their own specific views that are radically different from other managers.

Can you please let me know how the managers were editing the Dashboard, if you have sufficient filters in place (on the top left) then the managers should just change the filters needed for the data they require and the saved filters will always refert, however if they are going to the  kabab menu and choosing Edit Dashboard” then the filters will retain

If the managers are just changing the filters on the top left and the filters are remaining then you may need to log a support ticket and send a video of what you are experiencing so we can troubleshoot deeper.

Yes they are going through the kabob menu and edit dashboard. I tested this with an individual and they had all the same level of edit rights as I did. My major concern is someone modifying the dashboard and saving it, and then it impacting the other managers who use the dashboard.

Changing filters and reloading the dashboard worked as expected. I just don’t want them to be able to change any dashboard settings other than the filter sets I’ve provided them.

Thanks Jon,

I’ll check and see if there are any suggestions out there for permissions granularity, i.e., View permission vs Edit permission. If not, I’ll get something created.

For now, I’ve communicated the expectation that only myself and other members of upper leadership are to edit the dashboard. We’ll see how that goes.
