Is there a way to set up Synonym Mapping for the content catalog search? We have some content that uses “Loyalty 2” and some that uses “Loyalty 2.0.” Setting aside that we should have one standard way to refer to it, is there any way to tell the platform that they should be viewed as synonyms?

Hello!

I was told that if you add the alternate/additional search text to the Course > Design > Edit Catalog Settings > SEO > Meta Description section, based on what additional information or fields they search, the course(s) can be found.

Thanks for that - it does work and gets the job done for what we need!

@susan.cohen This comes naturally to any database where more than one person contributes even if you have an SOP for naming conventions.  Tell ya what I would do is go to that fancy new Tag manager and skip worrying about titles.  Everything simply gets tagged “Loyalty”.

We have 800 courses with “Rigging” in the title.  Some just called Rigging.  To simplify, tag manager, all things rigging tagged Rigging regardless of prefix or suffix and not to worry.  Tags can be changed in name later.  To change all those titles or even go back to each one and add meta data that others won’t,  try tags.  @chetler-findlay   Hope this helps.
