Hello!

I have a learning path that needs to be an OPTIONAL pre req for another learning path. To my knowledge, a learning path cannot be added to as a piece of “content” to a learning path - therefore I cannot use the native milestone/elective functionality. What are some workarounds?

So far I am playing with the following:

  1. Configure a competency assessment (I have no experience doing this - and would need to make sure its set up correctly, and best tips/tricks would be appreciated for an optional use case)
  2. Add a widget on the learning path layout and do a CTA directly to the other learning path - OR use the featured content carousel widget (will this work)?

Has anyone else encountered this similar workflow before and have a solution?

Hello!

We have done this before a few different ways but nothing fancy.

The first option is we enforced a due date for them to complete the first, prior to the second. 

The other way we have accomplished this is through the naming of the Learning Path - Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, etc.

Can I confirm the task you are trying to achieve here. 

You have a learning path (LP1) and you want to have another Learning Path (LP2) that the learner can optionally take before taking LP1. There is no dependency in taking LP2 before the learner can take LP 1, but you would like to inform the learner that completing LP2 before LP 1 may be adventageous. Is this your scenario, if not can you please correct my assumption so i can try and guide you as best I can.
