Can you make changes to a course that folks are in progress of taking?

We know Publish pushes changes but does it push changes to in progress learners?  I know that SCORM changes DO NOT affect in progress learners even if you publish.  If I can make time, it’s a simple test, but if you already know everyone could benefit.

Yes, you can make changes and push them out and it will impact all learners in courses. We do this very often as it is part of our SOP and have trainers update re-cap pages and upload videos as courses unfold.

@Alexis McLaughlin My testing found that if a learner is in progress and you make a change to Page 3 or add a Page even before where I am on Page 10, there is no prompt or requirement to go backward.  The course will complete as you received it.  Likewise, if you add a a page after I have completed the content, I will remain completed status.  I think this is a place where built in version control would be helpful.

Hi TI friends, I’m very interested in this topic of how changes impact learner progress. I see power user@charles.zimmerman tested this a year ago. Is this still accurate?

Thank you so much for posting this in community. 🤜🏼

@dlasa It is still true.  :)  Everyone keep in mind that you make all the changes you want on every single page and so long as you don’t publish, then no one, even a new enrollee will see the updates.
