The use case:

A subject matter expert is creating a course for internal learners. The expert would like to store instructor resources in separate lesson within a text page of the course while keeping the lesson and page hidden from learners. The idea is to keep instructor resources close to the course material for live review sessions with beginners.

The simplest solution seems to be to create a section/lesson/page page but not publish; however, this option doesn’t seem sustainable or scalable.

The current solution:

The current solution we have is to set the date of release for the lesson/page to a future date and name the lesson/page with a title like Instructor Resources so it’s clear to the learner that the area is not for him/her/them

The question:

What is another way to do this? Is there a way to completely hide a section/lesson/page in a course from learners while exposing it to managers?

hey @charles.zimmerman 👋🏼 have you ever done something like this?!

I haven’t played with it much in our use case but do the instructors have access to the Admin Resource Library on the ‘Release’ section? Again, I haven’t used it so I’m not sure how easy it would be for them to see it but you should be able to store things in there like the answer key.

Thank you for replying and for mentioning it @mgkaulen. I showed this to them but they said they were hoping to have something within the course itself. They are engineers and very aware of issues around maintenance so they’re trying to keep things close together (that’s my understanding).

I agree! An old LMS we used had something like this and it was great. I don’t have a solution for you, but will upvote it!

I would like to be able to do this also! Keeping certain pages of content hidden from Learners!

Hi all,

Unfortunately he ability to create a content page and have it hidden from a learner is not current functionality. As per @mgkaulen above we have created the Admin resource Library to fulfill this need.

If however you would like us to investigate this for a future feature enancement please log it in our Suggestins area HERE and we can track the upvotes.

Kind regards

Jon
