Modern UI and Engaging Bite-Sized Learning on the Thought Industries Platform

Ribbon Communications aims to leverage the Thought Industries platform to accelerate revenue recognition by increasing course completions and reducing the time required to complete courses.

The Ribbon authoring team identified that their legacy content was long and not very interactive resulting in a high % or learners not completing their assigned courses. The aim was to transform lengthy, boring content into manageable segments using Thought Industries’s milestones within Learning Paths thus helping learners track their progress and meet objectives through a blend of required and elective content. Changing the content type from E-Learning only format, to a blended learning format incorporating self-paced, content, webinars and assessments would increase engagement and finally providing the ability to share certificates on LinkedIn acted as an added incentive to complete the assigned content

The Ribbon team broke their master courses into bite sized microcourses, and grouped them into logical categories which were configured into milestones in a learning path. Some content was configured as Elective so the learners had the choice over whether they wanted to take the content before taking an assessment. 

Webinars were created and integrated into the Learning Paths, many of these were elective as the focus was for added context to the self paced material as well as the opportunity for the learners to ask questions.

Hotspots, flip cards and knowledge check pages were incorporated into the journey to ensure the learners had a more immersive and engaging experience.

Finally to incentivize the learners to complete the Learning Path, a certificate was awarded on completion which could be shared on LinkedIn.
